Dr. Smith was the surgeon who performed one of the numerous foot surgeries that I have had in my life and as a former professional ballet dancer I have 'racked up' all manner of issues ranging from bone spurs (many), neuropathy, lisfranc fracture, etc. I first became acquainted with him when he was a professor at Dr. Scholl's School of Podiatric Medicine.
Having been to so many podiatrists over the decades I can attest to Dr. Smith's superb skills not only as a surgeon but a man of impeccable decency. In other words this is a gentleman who puts his patients first and parks his ego well outside the door.
It was my lucky day when I had my first appointment with him.
I cannot recommend him highly enough.

My experience with the Smith Center for Foot & Ankle care was horrible!!!
First, when making the appointment for a burst boil on my toe, I was grilled
more about "my insurance" then what my problem was.

My first visit consisted of a foot examination, x-ray, some aggressive dead
skin removal. Dr. Smith also provided a anti-biotic for the boil.
I ask the doctor how much was his office visit, he say let insurance
take care of it. I ask the doctor what is plan was to getting my feet in
a healthy place, doctor told me come back next week and we'll see

On my next visit, again with the knife removing skin, this time, drawing
blood. Again I ask about prices and care, I got nothing.

My next visit I did not see the doctor, but and assistant, who looked
at my feet and said, you're doing OK, come back next week. Why?
And I also asked the assistant about charges, which he replied, insurance
will take care of it.

Well, I got the bill and $750.00 for two visit was egregious!!!
Not one charge was consistent, doctors charge was $235.00 one time
then $246.00 the next.
I have not walked away with positive feelings.

I will contest this charges with my insurance carrier and
to both Boards that certified this doctor.
