This place has a male staff member or manager who speaks Cantonese, and his service attitude is extremely poor, with a tendency to use insulting language, which made me very uncomfortable. The prices of the plants are also higher than the market rate, which is very unreasonable. I recommend going to Garden View Nursery instead; the service and shopping experience there are much better.

Nice nursery with a good selection of plants that has been a mainstay in the area for decades. Known for their use of little red wagons as shopping carts. Their prices on plants and garden supplies are very reasonable and they have discounts for members of area gardens like the LA Arboretum and the Huntington. There is a parking lot located on E El Monte St, and street parking available around it if it is full. If you are looking for something gardening related it is probably the best choice in the area and (better than using a big box store garden center) it is helping a local small business.

Our go-to nursery for plants and flowers for our garden. With spring’s here, people are out shopping for plants and flowers. They are busy here.

This nursery has been here for ages. From my parents generation, they had been buying plants from San Gabriel nursery. The nursery has everything you need for the garden. From perennial flowers to seasonal plants as well as fruit trees, they have them all.

We got some seasonal flowers to add some live to our garden. The prices for flowers are very reasonable as compared to other chain home improvement stores.

The gardeners here were very helpful. Every time we had a question, they were there to provide answers and helped us to select the right flowers and plants.

Even if you’re not buying flowers and plants, coming here to walk around is healthy for you as the the nursery is huge and has plenty of plants to provide ample fresh air.

Big nursery with a lot of plants and garden supplies. There are many flower pots and sculptures with oriental characteristics. Indoor area plants are kind of expensive. Many houseplants are not very healthy and can be a bit messy.

San Gabriel Nursery boasts an impressive array of plants and trees, offering green thumbs and garden enthusiasts a diverse selection to choose from. The variety on display is undoubtedly a strong point, allowing customers to find both common and rare specimens for their landscaping needs.

However, the nursery's pricing structure leaves much to be desired. Many items, particularly in the Bonsai section, come with eye-watering price tags that seem disproportionate to their value. This high-end pricing strategy may alienate budget-conscious gardeners or those looking for reasonable deals on quality plants.

The most disappointing aspect of San Gabriel Nursery's customer experience is their lackluster reward system. The so-called "deals" offered to loyal customers are frankly underwhelming. Case in point: after spending over $1000, I received a mere six "nursery bucks" to use on my NEXT visit. This paltry sum, amounting to less than 1% of the total spend, feels more like an insult than an incentive.

They would do well to revamp their customer loyalty strategy, offering more substantial discounts or rewards that genuinely reflect the value of a customer's patronage. As it stands, it would almost be preferable if they offered no rewards at all rather than such a meager return.

Been coming here for 50 years. Neat old nursery with knowledgeable, friendly staff. Good selection with great prices. One can get lost looking through all the rows of plants and stock.
